Irungbam Surkumar Singh is an Indian footballer who currently plays for McDowell Mohun Bagan, as well as the Indian national team, as a defender. Apart from his standard position as a right back, Surkumar has the skills to handle the centre back duties very elegantly.

At age 13, this Manipuri lad impressed the scouts at the Tata Football Academy, at the under-16 level, to such an extent that his efforts were well rewarded with a four-year stint at the Academy as a centre back. This dual-role would help him eventually in his successful career with the Indian national team, in the years to come.

2006 was another good year for Surkumar as it marked his entry into the big league; being signed by Kingfisher East Bengal saw a beginning to a promising career in club football.

After a brief stint with Mahindra United, Surkumar spent a long span of years with Kingfisher East Bengal right till 2009 when he donned the Green and Maroon colours. His ability to see-off long range shots into the opponent's box secured a sturdy career for him with the Mariners.
