Kingshuk Debnath is an Indian footballer midfielder who has been playing with McDowell Mohun Bagan for the past 2 years. With his well-timed entry into the Indian national team, Kingshuk feels proud to have represented Bengal at the U-19 and U-21 levels and also the Santosh Trophy.

Hailing from Katwa, West Bengal, he started his training at a local academy. At a young age, he impressed coach Robin Das and trained under him for almost 4 years. At 15, he started playing for Yamuna Sporting Club in the Srirampur League. He then moved to Kolkata and joined Aryans. After two fruitful seasons with Aryans, he joined ORE. Good performances for ORE brought him to the notice of the Chirag United SC(now Prayag United SC) officials. He joined Chirag United SC when they were in the 2nd division and by the end of his first season at the club they made it to the I-League. He stayed on with Chirag for another two seasons and when he was called up to join McDowell Mohun Bagan, he couldn't turn it down.

For Kingshuk, the most recent derby victory over Kingfisher East Bengal in the Kolkata League match is a moment to cherish. He added that the victory was special because the previous season they had failed to beat their archrivals.

" Since I am not a very experienced player myself, I usually do not advice others. But if I see a youngster doing something wrong, I tell him how to improve on his technique. "

Kingshuk is only concentrating on his game now. If he is not practicing, he mostly rests or talks to his friends.
