Dhanarajan is an Indian footballer who plays for McDowell Mohun Bagan as a defender since 2010.
Born in Palakkad, Kerala, Dhanarajan started playing for a local club at the age of 13. He switched between local clubs for the next few years and then joined Viva Kerala (now Chirag United Kerala). He captained the Viva Kerala team under the guidance of coach T.K. Chathuni for the next three years. Good performances with Viva fetched him a good offer from Chirag United SC (now Prayag United SC) in 2007 and he moved to Kolkata. Dhanarajan's performance for Chirag United SC impressed the Bagan scouts and they acquired him at the end of his third season with them.
Dhanarajan finds the supporters in Kolkata very passionate. He says that a bad result disheartens the fans. He feels winning every match is crucial to keep fans happy.
" Beating Kingfisher East Bengal twice during the 2011-12 season is something I will always cherish. In fact, every victory against Kingfisher East Bengal is memorable. "
Dhanarajan likes to keep a low profile and spend the off-season and his free time at home.
