Ashim Biswas is an Indian footballer who is in his second stint with the Mariners. An experienced striker, he represented India at the International level with considerable success. His first stint with the club was marred with injuries and Ashim, this time around, is very keen to prove his mettle.

Hailing from Kolkata, Ashim started his career under the guidance of Coach Pradip Das, at a football training camp in Ashok Nagar. In 1993 he joined SAI, Kolkata, and later trained at the Bihar Regiment Center in Patna. Ashim burst on to the Kolkata football circuit after signing for Tollygunge. Two successful seasons later, Ashim joined Mohun Bagan. Injuries limited his playing time, but he tasted great success against arch-rivals East Bengal. After playing in Goa and other Kolkata clubs, he returned to don the famous Green and Maroon of the Mariners.

Scoring in three consecutive games against Kingfisher East Benagal, during his first stint, are Ashim’s fondest memories of playing for Mohun Bagan.

" Football, as a game, is growing in our country. I hope the youngsters to make the best of it and make the country proud. My only advice to them is to be dedicated. "

Ashim likes watching movies and listening to music in his free time.
