Review Visit: Kolkata Goalz (Hrishikesh Park)

Mr. Gary Stannett, Chief Executive and Founder of the Active Communities Network, a charity based in London that uses sport and cultural activities to engage with and change the lives of young people in marginalised communities, visited Hrishikesh Park on Tuesday, 24th July 2012 as part of a Review Visit of the entire Kolkata Goalz Project. He was accompanied by Dr. Guru Gujral, Head Society, British Council, New Delhi; Mr. Sanjay Sarkar, Senior Project Manager Society, East India, British Council and Mr. Prince Rufus, Coordinator, McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz.

The guests first visited the Club Tent in the Maidan and had a look at the training ground and the Tent. They were presented flower bouquets and uttariyas by the Hony. Football Secretary of the Club, Mr. Uttam Saha. After a half an hour stop over at the Club, the visitors left for Hrishikesh Park.

Mr. Mrinal Chakraborty, eminent Sports Psychologist and Motivational Speaker was conducting a session for the trainees at Hrishikesh Park titled, “From Impossible to I m Possible”. The guests interacted with some of the children, the coaches and Mr. Chakraborty and also spoke with the officials of Amherst Street and Jorasanko Police Stations who were present at the Venue on the various aspects of the Project.

The Health Insurance Policy Documents of the trainees done by Star Health Insurance was also presented to the trainees during this visit.
