Repair work begins at the club tent

The uprooted tree which fell on the roof of the Mohun Bagan tent during yesterday's thunderstorm has been removed today. The officials from the PWD Department of the Government of West Bengal extended their full support and cooperation in removing the broken portion of the tree. It has been found that few photo frames kept inside the club tent have suffered minor damages.

State Sports Minister Mr. Madan Mitra, Youth Affairs Minister Mr. Arup Biswas, Kolkata Municipal Corporation's MMIC (Parks & Squares) Mr. Debasish Kumar visited the club premises today morning and assured all help for restoration of the club tent.

A decent aid from the Sports Council amounting to approximately Rs. 10 lacs is expected while a claim of approximately Rs. 2 lacs  is likely to be placed with the insurance authorities. MIC Mr. Atin Ghosh paid a visit to the club in the evening and said that he will try to organize a grant from the Mayor's fund.

Meanwhile, no damage has been reported in the dressing room and after a break of 10 days, the senior football team will be resuming practice from Friday.

McDowell Mohun Bagan has 2 more matches to play this season, against Pune FC in I league which will be held in Salt Lake Stadium on 6th May, while in Kolkata Premier League they will lock horns with Prayag United in Siliguri on 14th May.

Mariners will also play an exhibition match in Nepal on the 12th of May.
