McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz Report for April, May and June 2012

KOLKATA GOALZ ORGANISED BY McDOWELL MOHUN BAGAN
PROJECT REPORT FOR APRIL 2012

The following activities were conducted for McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz:

1. REGULAR TRAINING/ ENGLISH CLASSES:

Football practice and physical fitness regime was carried out at Hrishikesh Park as per schedule in the evening as per schedule. The training was more focused with the trainees being divided into U-15 and U-18 groups as per their ages and with an eye on the competitive matches of Kolkata Goalz Cup 2012. English classes were also held as per schedule at Metropolitan Institute for selected trainees under the guidance and care of Ms. Chitra of British Council, Kolkata.

2. KOLKATA GOALZ CUP 2012

The U-15 and U-18 teams of McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz had two matches in the Kolkata Goalz Cup in the month of April 2012, against Police Athletic Club on 14th April and against United SC on 22nd April.

The following were the results:

U-15 team lost by 0-2 to the U-15 PAC team
U-18 team drew goalless against U-18 PAC team
U-15 team won by 1-0 against U-15 USC team
U-18 team 2-1 against U-18 USC team

The U-18 Team therefore gained enough points to make it to the semi final stage of the tournament while the U-15 boys stayed in the hunt.

3. EXHIBITION MATCH

On 1st April an exhibition football match was organized by Netajinagar Milan Samity between the Kolkata Goalz Teams of McDowell Mohun Bagan and George Telegraph SC at their Club Ground at Netaji Nagar, Kolkata. The match was evenly contested. Our Team won by a solitary goal in this match.

4. SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS: FIRST OF ITS KIND IN KOLKATA GOALZ

i) KOLKATA GOALZ TRAINEES SET TO PLAY IN THE CALCUTTA FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Md, Ibran, Md. Imtiaz Hussain and Sk. Safiullah, are now the Three Musketeers of McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz by being selected by clubs to play in the Calcutta Football League organized by The Indian Football Association (West Bengal) for the 2012-13 season. ii) CO SPONSOR FOR KOLKATA GOALZ

iii) SEMINAR AT HOTEL HINDUSTHAN INTERNATIONAL, KOLKATA

A seminar was held at the Hotel Hindustan International, Kolkata organized by McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz, where Mr. Mrinal Chakraborty, eminent Sports Psychologist and Motivational Speaker.

KOLKATA GOALZ ORGANISED BY McDOWELL MOHUN BAGAN
PROJECT REPORT FOR MAY & JUNE 2012

The following activities were conducted for McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz I:

1.    I League match: The trainees of Hrishikesh Park were part of a huge audience which had gathered at the Salt Lake Stadium on 6th May 2012 to witness the last match of Icon, Jose Marcio Barreto Ramires for the McDowell Mohun Bagan Team. The heart throb of millions of fans and supporters did not disappoint as he slotted home a great goal as the home team defeated Pune FC in its last I League match.

2.    Regular Football Practice: Both the U-15 and U-18 teams single mindedly practiced for the Kolkata Goalz Cup. While the U-15 team failed to make the semi final stage by a whisker, the U-18 boys comfortably cruised to the semis. However in the semi final encounter against George Telegraph SC on 19th June, the team failed to capitalize on the chances earned and ultimately lost via penalty shoot out. The Teams failed to make it to the final match but they tried their level best.

3.    A new beginning: Leaving behind their disappointment, the players joined practice once again from end June 2012 for the next tournament. The Team of players and coaches have started practice with renewed vigour and they hope to build on their strengths.
