Mariners to kick off 2012-13 season on 8th August

On August 8th, McDowell Mohun Bagan will kick off the 2012-13 season, when they will play the semi final match of the All Airlines Gold Cup. The tournament starts on 2nd August.

McDowell Mohun Bagan will be playing against either George Telegraph, Aryan or Southern Samity in semi final. In the other semi final, Mohammedan Sporting will lock horns with either Kalighat MS, Janbazar or Bhawanipore Club.

Last year, Kalighat MS defeated Mohammedan Sporting 3-2 in the final to clinch the All Airlines Gold Cup football tournament.

Mohun Bagan last won the All Airlines Gold Cup in 2005 when the tournament was held in Burnpur. In the final that year, they defeated Mohammedan Sporting 1-0 with Sushil Singh scoring the all important goal.

Meanwhile, Mehrajuddin Wadoo has joined the residential camp in Durgapur. The 2 foreigners, Stanley Okoroigwe (arrived today afternoon in Kolkata) and Anyichie Echezona (will be arriving tomorrow evening) will start their practice in Durgapur from Monday.

Mohun Bagan has so far won the All Airlines Gold Cup 7 times.
