Mariners defeat Kingfisher East Bengal by 3 wickets in CAB League

McDowell Mohun Bagan Cricket team defeated Kingfisher East Bengal for the third time in a row this season when the Mariners emerged as winners by 3 wickets.

In a match which was reduced to 58 overs due to rain, Kingfisher East Bengal scored 195 in 58 overs. Sourav Seal and captain Sanjib Sanyal took four and three wickets respectively.

McDowell Mohun Bagan reached the target within 54.2 overs losing 7 wickets (196/7). Anustup Majumdar continued with his good form as he scored 41 while Debabrata Das (34) and Abhishek Jhunjhunwala (33) chipped in with useful contributions. The match saw a great all-round performance from the skipper. After taking three wickets, Sanjib Sanyal remained not out at 37.

Earlier, McDowell Mohun Bagan had defeated Kingfisher East Bengal in the quarter final of A. N. Ghosh Trophy as well as in the final of J. C. Mukherjee 20/20 Tournament.

McDowell Mohun Bagan will play their next CAB League match against Shibpur Institute on January 7-8.
