After the Federation Cup debacle, McDowell's Mohun Bagan has started their I-League campaign on a high note, with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Mumbai FC.

Chief Coach Sanjoy Sen used Sony Norde upfront behind the lone striker Balwant Singh. Sony Norde and Katsumi Yusa caused problem to the opponent defense time and again in the game, as they were seen constantly changing positions and also played a lot of wall passes with each other. The opponent defenders had a tough time to contain these 2 nippy skillful players.

Both Haitian Sony Norde and Japanese Katsumi Yusa scored their 3rd goals donning the green and maroon jersey in the 2014-15 season, though Katsumi Yusa has scored another one in tie-breaker at Bhutan.

Apart from bringing smiles on the face of Sanjoy Sen, their combination would surely give a lot of hope to the supporters of the National Football Club of India - Mohun Bagan. Apart from complementing each other nicely during the game, both the players heaped a lot of praise on the other. While Katsumi promptly picked up Sony's goal to be the best of the game, according to Sony the 1st goal of the game scored by Katsumi was the best.

After the end of yesterday's match, Man of the Match Katsumi Yusa said, "We have made a good start to the I-League and we will have to continue this momentum in the coming games." When asked to choose his favourite goal of the game, he said, "Scoring both the goals made me happy. Most importantly, team got full points today which is more important. However, among the 3 goals, I think Sony's strike was the best."

Talking to the reporters in the mixed zone (introduced for the first time at Salt Lake Stadium by McDowell's Mohun Bagan), Sony Norde said, "The first match of the tournament is always extremely important, so it's good that we have started the I-League with a win."

Dedicating this win to the supporters, Sony Norde said, "There is a lot of problem going on currently in the club and Mohun Bagan also have not won a tournament in the last few seasons. So, I dedicate this win to the supporters and I think this win should bring back smiles on their face, though we still have a long way to go in the I-League."
