Cosponsorship of McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz

McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz is a Corporate Social Responsibility Project of the Club to create a project of youth inclusion and diversion and as a Confidence Building Measure for the Community aimed at hard-to-engage children in the age-group of 12 to 18 years from poor background, whereby it is being endeavoured to make behavioural changes amongst these children in order to make them better and responsible citizens and thereby create Safer & Healthier Environment and Society, mainly through Football and other activities round the year. Kolkata Goalz Project is actively supported by Premier League, British Council, Kolkata Police, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, AIFF and IFA (WB).

At present, the Club is running 2 Projects, one at Hrishikesh Park (60 children belonging to areas under Amherst Street and Jorasanko Police Station) and the other at Rabindra Kannan Park (90 children selected by Butolla and Girish Park Police Stations).

Newland Agro Industries Limited, an organization originally from West Bengal and engaged in diverse fields of activities ranging from Marketing of Insurance Product, Agro & Food Processing, Resort & Real Estate Project, PVC Pipes Manufacturing, Education, Computer Assembling, Hospitality Service etc. has decided to support this noble cause as a Co Sponsor of McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz. This association would help the trainees receive cashless medical coverage upto a limit of Rs. 50,000 per head for one year. Three trainees of our Project, namely Md. Ibran, Md. Imtiaz Hussain and Sk. Safiullah have already been registered by Clubs in the 2nd and 3rd Division of Calcutta Football League for the coming season.

Mr. Dipankar De, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Newland Agro Industries Limited is very happy to contribute to this unique initiative and he feels that this Win-Win relationship would help McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz scout and develop more talents for the future.

Mr. De said in today's press conference, "Our target is to make football popular among the children and we will make every effort to bring in more children into the game."

The 3 musketeers of McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz, who has been selected to represent clubs at various Divisions of Calcutta Football League, was presented with McDowell Mohun Bagan Kolkata Goalz Jerseys, printed with the cosponsors name. General Secretary Anjan Mitra, Jose Barreto and Mr. Dipankar De handed over the jerseys to Md. Ibran, Md. Imtiaz Hussain and Sk. Safiullah respectively.

General Secretary Anjan Mitra thanked Mr. Dipankar De for his organization's active involvement to try and raise the standard of football. Mr. Mitra honoured Mr. De with a green and maroon scarf.
