Calcutta Football League Premier Division 2012-13

The Calcutta Football League Premier Division for the upcoming season will be played in a new format. 19 teams will be divided into 2 groups with McDowell Mohun Bagan in Group B. Group A will have 10 teams while Group B will be having 9 teams, out of which the top 5 teams from Group A and the top 4 teams from Group B will qualify for the final stage, where again this 9 teams will be playing against each other, and the team with highest points will be declared winner of the CFL Premier Division.
The points from the 1st stage will not be carried forward to the next stage, but cards will be carried forward. The bottom 10 teams from both groups will also play against each other and 1 team will be relegated.
Teams of Group A: Kingfisher East Bengal, Prayag United, Aryan, Army XI, Kalighat MS, Railway FC, BNR, George Telegraph, Eastern Railways, Peerless.
Teams of Group B: McDowell Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan Sporting, Bhawanipore, Port Trust, Tollygunge Agragrami, Police AC, Southern Samity, West Bengal Police, Kalighat Club.
From this season, IFA has abolished the rule of fielding one U-19 footballer mandatorily, instead they are introducing an U-19 League where each and every team of Calcutta Football League Premier Division will have to field a team comprising of all U-19 players - lien, however, is not allowed.
McDowell Mohun Bagan will likely play their 1st match of the CFL Premier Division in the 2nd week of August.
