McDowell Mohun Bagan meet Prayag United in Siliguri

McDowell Mohun Bagan will be playing their last Calcutta Football League Premier Division match against Prayag United tomorrow in Siliguri. This is also their last match of the season.

Mariners, who are at present in the 2nd position of the league table (20 points from 9 matches), have an outside chance of winning the Premier Division of Calcutta Football League, if league leaders Kingfisher East Bengal (21 points from 9 matches) are held by Mohammedan Sporting. The Kingfisher East Bengal vs Mohammedan Sporting match will be played at the Salt Lake Stadium. Both the matches will kickoff at the same time, 3:30 p.m.

First and foremost, Mariners will have to win tomorrow's match to keep their title hopes alive.

McDowell Mohun Bagan won the last match of the I league when they defeated Pune FC 2-0; however, yesterday, they were defeated by a similar margin in a friendly match played in Nepal.

The team reached Siliguri today afternoon and did not have any practice session today.

The 20-member team for tomorrow's match is as follows: Odafa Okolie, Shilton Paul, Sangram Mukherjee, Rakesh Masih, Anwar Ali, Surkumar Singh, Dhanarajan R., N. Mohanraj, Sk. Jewel Raja, Snehasish Chakraborty, Manish Maithani, Souvik Chakraborty, N. P. Pradeep, Syed Rahim Nabi, Hudson Lima Silva, Sunil Chhetri, Ashim Biswas, Manish Bharghav, Deepak and Goutam Thakur.

The various probabilities of winning CFL Premier Division:

1. If Kingfisher East Bengal defeats Mohammedan Sporting, they lift the trophy, irrespective of the result of the match between McDowell Mohun Bagan vs Prayag United.
2. If Kingfisher East Bengal are held by Mohammedan Sporting, and McDowell Mohun Bagan defeats Prayag United, McDowell Mohun Bagan lift the trophy.
3. If Kingfisher East Bengal are held by Mohammedan Sporting and the McDowell Mohun Bagan vs Prayag United match also ends in a draw, then Kingfisher East Bengal lift the trophy.
4. If McDowell Mohun Bagan gets defeated by Prayag United and if Mohammedan Sporting beat East Bengal by 5 goals, then Mohammedan Sporting lift the trophy.
5. If the match between McDowell Mohun Bagan and Prayag United ends in a draw, then to lift the title Mohammedan Sporting will have to beat Kingfisher East Bengal by 10 goals. If they win by a lesser margin, then McDowell Mohun Bagan will win the title.
