Odafa runs riot in March
The month of March saw Odafa Okolie record a brilliant scoring average of 2.5 goals per game - his best month in Mohun Bagan colours. In a month where Mohun Bagan played only two matches, the Nigerian showed his scoring prowess by netting five goals.
Odafa struck four times in the first half to help the Mariners register a 6-0 victory over Techno Aryan Club, in a crucial Calcutta Football League encounter. He could not add to his first half goals as he was substituted in the 51st minute.
His second half equalizer against Air India, in an I-League encounter, took his goal tally for the month to five. Gritty defending by the opposition and the woodwork denied Odafa from further adding to his tally.

After scoring five goals in 141 minutes of playing time, Odafa averaged a strike every 28 minutes and 12 seconds in March. He also accounted for 62.5% of the team's goals scored during the month.
In terms of the number of goals scored, January was the most successful month for Odafa. He amassed 8 goals in 8 matches which included a hat-trick against former club Churchill Brothers and a brace against Chirag United Kerala.
Since joining the Mariners at the start of the season, Odafa has scored 32 goals in 29 appearances - averaging 1.1 goals per game. His tally of 22 I-League goals is the second highest in the league.

After scoring twice against Dempo S.C. on the 1st of April, Odafa will look to add to his goals tally when the Green and Maroon Brigade face HAL on Friday.
Here's wishing the man, popularly known as O2, all the luck for the rest of the season.
