PRACTICE REPORT; GERARD AMBASSA GUY IS THE NEW PLAYER OF ASIAN ORIGIN IN TRIAL

Kolkata , 22-Jul, 2010 : Gerard Ambassa Guy, a Player of Asian Origin has today arrived in Kolkata for trial. He is born in Cameroon but his nationality is Hong Kong. He is a left footed player who plays in stopper position and also can play as left back.

Due to his arrival, there was a change in training schedule. Today was supposed to be a gym and swimming session in Lake Country Club, but it was canceled and team had a practice session in club ground. Coach Stanley said, "Actually Gerard last played a match on May 25th, so I can't straight away put him in trial in the very first day itself. Today he did 30 minutes of jogging and then some stretching and physical exercise. First let me see his fitness, then I will assess him in trial."

Though there was no afternoon practice for full team, Mohun Bagan coach Stanley called Gerard for a short training session. First, he jogged 6 laps around the ground, which was followed by 20 minutes of stretching session to assess his fitness. After this short session, coach Stanley said, "It is too early to comment on Gerard's fitness. I will have to see him for few more days and after he starts practicing with ball, then I can comment about him."

Tomorrow's practice session will be held in the morning from 8 am.

Gerard's date of birth is 21/09/1978, height 183 cm and weight 75 kg.

He was part of the Cameroon national team from 1995 to 2000 and has also played for Hong Kong National Team and has scored 6 goals in 21 matches.

He has so far played for

1. Tonnerre of Yaounde (Cameroon) 1994-1996.

2. Foshan Fosti Football Club (China) 1996-1997

3. Hong Kong Ranger FC (1998-1999)

4. Instant Dict FC (1999-2000)

5. Orient Yee Hope (2000-2001) 5 goals.

6. Pahang (Malaysia) (May 2002 - September 2002)

7. Persija Jakarta (Indonesia) (June 2005-October 2005)

8. Happy Valley AA (2001-2009) 47 goals

9. South China (his current club)

His success includes

1. Winner of East Asia Championship, Taiwan 2009, he was the Man of the Tournament. He played against Korea, Guam and Taipei.

2. He played in Doha Asian Games, 2006 and played against Iran, India and Maldives.

3. Champion Hong Kong league, 2003 and 2006 for Happy Valley.

4. Champion Interport Cup 2000, 2001 and 2002.

5. Champion Millenium Cup in 2000, Hong Kong against a Brazilian team.

6. Champion International Soccer Sevens, in 2000, Instant Dict against Chelsea.

7. Champion Shield Cup in 2001 and 2004 with Orient Yee Hope, Happy Valley.

8. Champion FA Cup in 2004 for Happy Valley.

9. Champion, African National Cup (U-21) for Nigeria in 1995.
