football team, Indian Nationalism always bolstered and sometimes happen
to be similar with the name Mohun Bagan. Mohun Bagan proved that Indians

bank of river Ganga. Till today, when the team wins, it is the Indian
tricolour that can be seen at the background of the Green and Maroon.
During the centenary celebration, Mohun
Bagan has been declared as the National Club of India, against it's
contribution towards spreading the nationalist feeling among the common
people in British India, which helped the Indian Struggle for freedom in
a great extent. In 1990, Hon.Minister of Sports Mr.Priya Ranjan
Dasmunshi and Hon.Minister of Steel Mr. Santosh Mohan Dev started the
process and make this rare honor to a reality. None other club in the
world is holding such a honor. Today Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is a true
face of India. Every Indian, who love their motherland, feel a sentiment
inside for this 117 years old organization, which is not only green and
young by colour, but also achieving new heights and records almost every
