Subrata's name can be easily included in the list of those legendary footballers, who never left MohunBagan. Subrata joined MohunBagan in 1974 and played till the beginning of 1991 season. He also offered both by EastBengal and Mohd.Sporting in early Eighties, but a dependable Stopper, captained the club in 1977 and under his Captaincy MohunBagan lifted triple crown by winning IFA Shield, Durand Cup and Rovers Cup. Subrata also played for Bengal in Santosh trophy and for India in International tournaments like Asian games, Asis cup, Pre Olympic, Mardeka etc. Subrata,; Arjuna award winner in 1991, probably the only Defender in our Country to score fifty plus goals in competitive football tournaments. Later he has also Coached MohunBagan and brought Championship crowns in National football league and another major tournaments for the Mohun Bagan club.
